So I’ve decided to start a blog.

First off I’m just going to list the reasons I’m doing this. Not that I really think anyone cares, this is more a signpost for myself – to remind me why I’m doing this in the first place. Also, I think it might be cool to look back at this at some stage and see if I accomplished what I set out to do.

I guess I was mainly inspired to start blogging due to a post by Jay Fields. After bouncing the idea around I was finally tipped over by How to achieve ultimate blog success in one easy step.

So I have 3 main reasons for doing this:

  1. Advance my career by demonstrating (hopefully) my knowledge in a number of technical areas.
  2. Improve my writing. (I was once told by a colleague that I’m very good at writing. He lied)
  3. Raise issues I feel are worthy discussing such as the future of C# and .Net.

My initial plan is to blog at least 3 times a week, maybe even daily.
